My name is Joe Mendel and I’ve been a mortgage broker for over 17 years. Before brokering full time I worked in auto sales and finance at a Ford dealership.

My wife and I have bought and sold many homes over the years, including two custom built homes, and two major renovations. In 2016, we moved from south Surrey to Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast of beautiful BC.

Whether you’re a first time homebuyer or you’ve done this a few times, during my 17 years as a mortgage broker I’ve learned that I can never over communicate with my clients. My goal is to keep you updated before you ever ask.

afford to do that? Like many other professional services, such as insurance, mortgage brokers are generally paid a finder’s fee when we introduce trustworthy, dependable customers to a financial institution. These fees are quite standard and nearly industry-wide so that the focus remains on you, the customer.

A fee may be necessary where a non-conforming, specialty or private mortgage solution is required. This will always be disclosed to you right up front.
